TurkeyShoot Coach Information

Dear Coaches,
Turkeyshoot is just around the corner! We, at MYSC, are very excited to host this tournament because it is always a blast for everyone involved. You will be receiving a few important email updates from your Turkeyshoot Director as the tournament nears. In addition, please read all of the tournament rules available on the website. The tournament runs smoothly when our coaches and parents are educated on the tournament rules.
Final schedules can be expected to be posted approximately 10 days prior to the tournament. We will try our best to get them out earlier than that. You will receive an email when preliminary schedules are posted. All EYES on deck as we work hard to make the schedules work for everyone. PLEASE read your tournament game schedule CAREFULLY. I like to think we work magic when formulating schedules…but we are human, and mistakes can happen. We rely on our coaches to proof the schedules and alert us to any mistakes ASAP.
If you have not submitted an official roster signed by your club registrar yet, please remember to obtain one BEFORE tournament check-in. You can send it into MYSC or bring it with you to check-in on November 21st.
ALL teams are required to check-in on Saturday by noon, November 21st at tournament headquarters. This includes U-08, U-09, and U-10 teams! You are NOT required to check-in before your first game, but you MUST check-in between 7:30am and 12:00pm that Saturday. All of this information is of course, in the tournament rules section on the website.
This year, I am introducing a new contest! Each team is welcome to come by Turkeyshoot headquarters, knock on the door, and serenade us with their most creative and spirited team cheer. This opportunity is open from Friday evening to Saturday evening at 6:30pm. The team chosen to have performed the most creative and spirited team cheer will earn their head coach a free Turkeyshoot sweatshirt with their name on the back! The tournament staff turkeys will make the final decision by 8:30pm Saturday evening, and your coach can claim his reward anytime Sunday by tournament close.
Last, but not least, we come to the issue of sportsmanship. At Turkeyshoot, we pride ourselves on running an excellent tournament. The air of good spirits can be ruined when players, parents, or coaches display poor sportsmanship. Soccer is a beautiful sport when played with heart and class. Your responsibility as participants in Turkeyshoot is to uphold our expectations by displaying exceptional sportsmanship and team values.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing all you turkeys at the fields!
Lindsay Bowyer
Tournament Director
P.S. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING THE SUNSHINE!
