The membership of MYSC are mourning the tragic loss of Emily Swanson, age 13, who died 1/4/08 in an avalanche while hiking with friends & family. Emily was an avid soccer player with MYSC. We are all deeply saddened, and extend our thoughts and prayers to her family, friends, teammates, & coaches.
Donations can be sent to two organizations that helped in
Emily's recovery:
Everett Mountain Rescue Unit
C/O Ken Ohlsen
5506 Old Machias Road
Snohomish, WA
Snohomish County Volunteer Search & Rescue

Snohomish, WA
If you would like a personal way to remember Emily, the Swanson family requests that you donate books to either Columbia Elementary or Harbour Pointe Middle School. The librarians will place a card inside the books "In Memory of Emily Swanson". Kim would love to see a flood of books in both libraries with Emily's name in them. Either buy a book that means a lot to your child or ask the librarians for suggestions.
